Assessment camp for beneficiaries held in Niuland
Niuland district administration, in coordination with the Health and Family Welfare and Social Welfare departments along with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), organised an assessment camp at CHC Niuland

- DIMAPUR — Niuland
district administration, in coordination with the Health and Family Welfare and
Social Welfare departments along with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing
Corporation of India (ALIMCO), organised an assessment camp at CHC Niuland on
Tuesday.
- The camp was held under Assistance to the Person with
Disability (ADIP) schemes and Rashtriya Vayoshree Yojana (RVY). The objective
of the assessment camp was to help needy senior citizens (60 years and above)
and assistance to the person with disability.
- A DIPR report stated that equipment such as tricycle,
wheelchair, crutch, walking stick and hearing aid would be provided free of
cost to the needy and deserving citizens. Altogether, 36 beneficiaries attended
the assessment camp.
- In a separate programme, a seminar on Beti Bachao Beti
Padhao (BBBP) was conducted at Government High School, Nito, under Niuland
district on Tuesday with Alovika Swu, assistant commandant of 12th NAP (IR)
Battalion, as the resource person.
- Report stated that Swu spoke on cyber security, POCSO Act
and other laws on women and child. He also held interaction with the students.
- The EAC of Niuland, Kelengunuo Solo, briefed the students on
the implementation of Mission Shakti in the district.
- In yet another programme, the district road safety committee
of Niuland organised a painting competition on the theme "Slow down, save
lives" at the DC’s conference hall on Tuesday.
- The competition witnessed participation of 12 students from
4 schools in Niuland town, wherein Aghakivi of Reginald Hughes Shaw Memorial
School (RHSM), Meagan of RHSM and Angukavi of St. Joseph School were declared
winners of the competition.
