Assam, Tripura register wins at U-13 ASMITA Zonal Football League

DIMAPUR — Assam and Tripura registered wins on Monday in the ongoing Under-13 ASMITA Zonal Football League 2025–26 (East Zone), which began on February 5 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium in Chümoukedima, hosted by the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and organised under the ASMITA and Khelo India initiatives.

In the match played between neighbouring states Assam and Nagaland, Assam dominated Nagaland with a 5-1 win with Bandhana Boro's hat-trick and Tinamuni Basumatary's goal.

According to an update, Boro scored in the 5th, 45th, and 47th minutes, while Basumatary netted one in the 23rd minute. Nagaland's Ligha Shohe scored the lone goal in the 33rd minute.

In another match, Tripura crushed Sikkim 9-0, with Nina Tripura scoring six goals and Sujata Debbarma and Rangita Jamatia contributing two goals and one goal, respectively. Nina Tripura's goals came in the 5th, 22nd, 25th, 33rd, 38th, and 47th minutes, while Sujata Debbarma scored in the 10th minute and Rangita Jamatia netted goals in the 21st and 31st minutes.

In the earlier matches, Assam secured a narrow 2-1 win over Tripura, with Tianmuno Basumantary scoring both the goals for the team, while Tripura’s Rupa Jamatia scored the lone goal. Mizoram secured a dominant 13-0 win over Sikkim on February 6. Nancy Lalhruaizeli scored six goals for the team, Felina Malsawmzuali scored four goals, F Zozampuii scored two goals and Malsawmsangi Pautu scored one goal.
