Orgs. urge govt. to take action against encroachers

In a memorandum submitted to the MLA Engleng and Deputy commissioner of Karbi Anglong on Friday, the ADSU and DKH leaders said the Nagas from Nagaland led by the Chairman of Rilan village recently entered Karbi Anglong on August 14 and continued encroaching the forestland of Daldoli RF along the Assam-Nagaland inter-state boundary and constructed a church near Lahorijan BOP, Disapur village under Dillai police station.

The chairman of Rilan village through a loud speaker had reportedly announced that the area of 1103 hectares of land had already been recognised by the government of Nagaland in 2013 to be within Nagaland, the ADSU stated. ADSU and DKH leaders informed that the Nagas from Nagaland daily enter Doldali RF Karbi Anglong and clear the jungles. The encroachers even threaten the villagers of Disapur, it said.
