Assam Rifles rescues accident victims near Washello
Personnel from the Phek Battalion of the Assam Rifles responded to a civilian Bolero accident on April 6 near Washello village in Meluri district, saving the lives of those in the accident vehicle
- DIMAPUR — Under
the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (IGAR) (North), personnel from
the Phek Battalion of the Assam Rifles, stationed at Company Operating Base
(COB) New Thewati, responded to a civilian Bolero accident on April 6 near
Washello village in Meluri district, saving the lives of those in the accident
vehicle.
- According to an update, the team, which included personnel
from 12 AR and nursing assistants, promptly reached the site and administered
critical first aid to the injured passengers.
- The vehicle had plunged 100 metres down a steep hillside,
leaving three individuals injured. Tsomongthe Paul Thsankhur Thuer of Washello
village sustained a head injury but was reported to be in stable condition and
was transported to Meluri for further treatment.
- Willson Trakha of Washello village suffered critical leg
injuries and was evacuated to Kohima for advanced medical care, while Avile of
Washello village sustained minor injuries.
- The timely intervention and medical assistance by the Assam
Rifles, COB New Thewati, played a pivotal role in saving lives and alleviating
suffering.
