Dimapur, June 23: Basing on specific intelligence inputs regarding dumping of banned contraband items, troops of the Moreh Battalion of Pallel Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation in general area Moreh, Ward No- 2 in Chandel district of Manipur state and recovered contraband drugs on June 21.
During the search operation, a total of 20,000 strips (10 tablets in each strip) of Acti Feel tablets were recovered. The recovered item has been handed over to the Moreh Police Station.
In another programme, Mantripukhri Battalion of Keithelmanbi Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), organised ‘Seven Aside Football competition (U- 15)’ at Sekta village under Lamlai Kendra in Imphal East District of Manipur from June 8 to 22.
A total of 13 teams with seven players in each team participated in the event. The final match was played between the Bolero Club Sekta and YFC Loksankhung on June 22 which was subsequently won by Bolero Club Sekta.
The event was graced by International Boxer Padma, Ngangom Dingko Singh, Grama Panchayat president along with other members and the local populace of Lamlai and Sekta village.
At closing ceremony both the teams were awarded prizes.
Local sportsmen who have represented India in various levels were also felicitated.
