DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles, under its flagship initiative “Friends of the Hills", organised a welfare programme at PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School in DC Colony, Peren.
According to an update, during the event, sports equipment, stationery, and other essential materials were distributed to enhance the educational and extracurricular development of the students.
The programme witnessed participation from the students, who showcased cultural performances, including traditional dances, songs, and narrations.
The Assam Rifles also organised a lecture on Operation Sindoor at Modern College in Piphema on Wednesday. The event was conducted with the aim of educating young minds about significant military operations and their relevance in today’s security environment.
A total of 86 students and staff attended the session. The lecture provided an overview of Operation Sindoor, highlighting its planning, execution, and success.
Similar awareness lectures on the occasion of the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor were held at Government High School in Chenloisho, Mon and Holy Vineyard School in Bumei Village, Mon.
At Holy Vineyard School, the session was attended by 170 students and teachers from the Bumei, Changlangshu, and Changsha villages, while 65 students participated at Government High School in Chenloisho.
Further, Assam Rifles rendered assistance for the successful conduct of the annual games and sports meet at Government Middle School in Pungro.
The Assam Rifles provided administrative and logistical support, including the preparation of the sports ground and coordination of events.
