the third day of the National Integration Tour at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January
17.
- DIMAPUR — On the
third day of the National Integration Tour, January 17, organised by the Assam
Rifles, a group of 20 students and two teachers from Zesaji Presidency College
in Kiphire met the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
- During this meeting, the president engaged with the students
and commended them for being part of the National Integration Tour. She
highlighted that the initiative aims to foster cultural unity and strengthen
the bonds that form the fabric of the nation’s identity.
- An update stated that the president urged the students to
dream big, work hard, and embrace India's diversity as a source of strength.
- Following this, the students toured the iconic Rashtrapati
Bhavan, exploring its grandeur and historical significance. Their visit
included a walk through the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, which houses a
collection of artefacts, paintings, and photographs that document the legacy of
India's previous presidents.
- The students visited the Durbar Hall, Mughal Gardens, and
exhibits showcasing the nation’s democratic journey.
- Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles recently conducted a pipe band
show and a weapon display for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets in Wokha,
attended by 215 NCC cadets.
- The event aimed to foster patriotism, instill discipline,
and inspire the young cadets with the values upheld by India’s oldest
paramilitary force.
- During the weapon display, the cadets witnessed an array of
modern weaponry used by the Assam Rifles. Personnel demonstrated the capabilities
of these weapons, explaining their significance in safeguarding the nation’s
borders and maintaining peace in the region.
