DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 8: Assam Riles Ex-Servicemen Rally was conducted by 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Maram, Senapati district of Manipur on October 5. The rally saw mass participation of ex-servicemen including Veer Naris and children, an assam rifles release said today.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant, 35 Assam Rifles, stated that the rally was organised with an aim to reach out to the Assam Rifles ex-servicemen fraternity, renewing the bond between serving and retired personnel, felicitating Veer Naris and addressing grievances pertaining to pensions and other benefits. Veer Naris were felicitated on the occasion, an open house and Pension Adalat were also held to address certain issues of all the ex-servicemen.
The ex-servicemen willingly participated and presented their points which needed attention. A team from HQ DGAR was also present to address grievances and problems, the release said.
A medical camp was also conducted by chief medical officer of 35 Assam Rifles along with his medical team for the benefit of ex-servicemen on the occasion.
The camp was organised with a view to providing the best medical care and assistance to the ex-servicemen and dependants. A lecture on health awareness was also delivered in which emphasis was given on the maintenance of hygiene and sanitation as well as preventive measures for various deadly diseases.
A total of 215 ex-servicemen and their families were treated and provided with required free medicines at the camp.
