Rifles organised a cleanliness drive at Kezo Basa village, Kohima, on Saturday,
promoting community engagement and environmental responsibility.
- According to an update, the initiative was conducted as a
goodwill gesture to strengthen the bond between Assam Rifles and the local
populace while supporting the nationwide mission of Clean India, Green India.
- The drive witnessed participation from 35 villagers, who
joined hands with Assam Rifles personnel to clean public areas and spread
awareness on hygiene and sustainable waste management.
- Also, the Assam Rifles hosted an event at Indira Gandhi
Stadium for 70 students from the School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland
University, on the same day, themed ‘Empower, entertain, and envision,’ to
offer a glimpse into the life and ethos of the armed forces.
- It was mentioned that the day began with a briefing by the
company commander, followed by a series of activities designed to motivate and
challenge the participants. These included team-building exercises, selection
of teams and war cries, tug-of-war, and a military-style relay race.
- Students also participated in fitness challenges like
push-ups, chin-ups, and sit-ups. A short session on basic first aid techniques
was also conducted, equipping students with essential life-saving skills and
emphasising the importance of preparedness.
- Additionally, a career counselling session and quiz provided
insights into opportunities in the armed forces.
