DIMAPUR — A National Integration Tour organised by the Assam Rifles under Operation Sadbhavana culminated with a flagging-in ceremony in Kohima on Thursday.
According to an update, the 14-day journey, which commenced on August 29, aimed to promote national integration, cultural awareness, and exposure for the youth from remote areas.
A total of 20 students and two teachers from PM Shri Government High School, Yangphi, Kiphire, participated in the tour covering Kohima, Delhi and Agra. They visited important national landmarks, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, Taj Mahal, Red Fort, National War Memorial, National Museum and Akshardham Temple. The highlight of the programme was an interaction with the President of India.

The flagging-in ceremony was presided over by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles, who congratulated the participants for successfully completing the tour. In his address, he stressed the importance of education, discipline and national pride in shaping the future of the nation. He encouraged the youth to draw inspiration from their experiences and contribute positively to society.
As a gesture of appreciation, he presented mementoes to each participant, commending their enthusiasm and curiosity. The students expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army, sharing that the tour broadened their horizons.
