DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted various civic action programmes, including the inauguration of infrastructure in Peren district and a blood donation camp in Chieswama.
In the Peren district, the Assam Rifles inaugurated a community hall at Old Tesen village and a basketball court at Christian School, Tesen.
According to an update, the facilities were inaugurated by Col. Mohit Kumar Bansal, Commanding Officer of 9 Assam Rifles, who attended as the chief guest, while Major Abhey Sambyal, Company Commander, was the guest of honour.
The projects were undertaken under Operation Sadbhavana 2025–2026. The community hall is intended to serve as a platform for social, cultural, and developmental activities, while the basketball court aims to encourage sportsmanship among students and local youth.

The update stated that the initiative aims to create a drug-free environment and steer students towards a disciplined life. The event was attended by approximately 150 people.
Separately, a voluntary blood donation camp was conducted on January 24 at the Unit Hospital, Chieswama, by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Blood Bank, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).
A total of 71 donors, comprising civilians and Assam Rifles personnel, voluntarily donated blood during the camp. The initiative aimed to replenish blood stocks and promote a culture of voluntary donation.
