DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris, organised a yoga session to commemorate International Yoga Day at Kisama Heritage Village, Kohima.

The event featured an address highlighting the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. Participants at the event performed a series of yoga asanas under the guidance of experienced instructors from Brahma Kumaris, according to a press statement.

Additionally, Assam Rifles organised a wreath-laying ceremony at the Unit War Memorial in Kohima on June 18 to remember and honour Rifleman (General Duty) Jagat Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice on June 18, 1961, in an ambush by militants in Mon district.

It stated that a total of six officers, 18 junior commissioned officers, and 214 other ranks paid their tributes to the gallant soldier.
