- DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a malaria
awareness campaign on Monday at Christian High School in Tesen village, Peren
district.
- According to an update, the event saw the participation of
30 schoolchildren, eight teachers, and 20 villagers.
- The campaign raised awareness about the causes, symptoms,
and preventive measures of malaria. Special emphasis was placed on educating
attendees about the vectors responsible for spreading the disease, along with
the importance of early detection and access to timely medical treatment.
- It said that with the onset of the monsoon season, which
typically heightens the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses, the session also
covered practical tips on maintaining hygiene and sanitation to reduce mosquito
breeding grounds.
- Further, Assam Rifles reassured the local community of
continued medical support in case of any suspected malaria cases. At the
conclusion of the event, essential medical supplies, including antimalarial
medicines and hygiene kits, were distributed among the villagers.

- Also, Assam Rifles organised an outreach programme titled “A
day with the company commander” at Chakabama. The event brought together 65
students from Government High School Kikruma and Cimorb Public School, Kezo
town.
