Rifles organised an ex-servicemen meet at Wokha for a day of camaraderie,
health checks, and community support on Sunday.
- According to an update, the meet aimed to honour the
contributions of ex-servicemen during their service and their active
involvement in nation-building.
- It said that the occasion served as a reminder that the
services of these veterans should never be forgotten and that every effort must
be made to ensure they are respected and cared for.
- Former soldiers shared experiences from their time in
service, reflecting on memories from their postings across India. The meet also
provided an opportunity for the veterans to reconnect with old comrades.
- The medical camp, organised with Assam Rifles doctors and
healthcare professionals, offered free medical consultations, addressed
immediate health concerns, and provided education on preventive healthcare and
managing age-related health issues.
