‘Empowering young tiny hands for big dreams and a bright future through
education, engagement, and entertainment,’ the Assam Rifles organised an event
titled ‘A day with company commander’ at Heningkunglwa in Peren.
- This initiative aimed to inspire and empower young students
through various activities designed to foster growth and development, stated a
press release.
- The event saw participation from 55 students and five
teachers, who engaged in a range of activities, including tree planting, games,
sports, and career-guiding interactive sessions.
- On the same day, the Assam Rifles organised a ‘Grand Millet
Mela’ at Tuensang Garrison to promote the nutritional benefits of millets and
encourage their inclusion in daily diets.
- A total of 52 families from Tuensang participated, preparing
and showcasing a variety of millet-based dishes. The event featured cooking
demonstrations, interactive sessions on millet cultivation, and food tastings.
- Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles in Kohima hosted a goodwill
visit from a delegation of 10 personnel from the Indian Coast Guard on February
4 and 5.
- The delegation explored key landmarks, including the Kohima
War Cemetery, the Kohima local market, and Khonoma village.
- The itinerary included interactions with the Inspector
General of Assam Rifles (North), and the visiting delegation expressed
appreciation for the warmth and respect extended to them.
