- DIMAPUR — Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera,
AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, conducted a comprehensive review of
operational readiness and security measures in Dimapur sector during a visit on
Thursday.
- A press release issued by IGAR (North) stated that Lt Gen
Lakhera met with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio before visiting Kashiram Basti in
Dimapur, where he assessed the operational readiness, ongoing activities, and
challenges faced by the under command units of the Dimapur sector.
- The visit aimed to evaluate the Assam Rifles' preparedness
in safeguarding internal security and maintaining stability in the critical
North East region.
- During the visit, Lt Gen Lakhera interacted with the troops,
commending their professionalism and commitment. Concluding his assessment, the
DG reiterated the necessity of maintaining heightened vigilance and underscored
the importance of robust civil-military cooperation to ensure sustained peace
and security in the region.
- He also affirmed the Assam Rifles' continued commitment to
supporting and collaborating with local communities, fostering mutual trust and
ensuring the successful execution of future operations.
