DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted a public welfare coordination meeting and a medical camp and celebrated the 53rd Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association Day.
In Kohima, the Assam Rifles conducted a public welfare and coordination meeting at the Indira Gandhi Stadium on Monday, with representatives of civil society organisations and community groups.
According to an update, the meeting witnessed the participation of 54 representatives, providing a platform for meaningful interaction and dialogue on issues concerning public welfare, community development, and local concerns.
The interaction focused on strengthening coordination with civil society and enhancing community participation in initiatives aimed at promoting peace, harmony, and development in the region.
The meeting also deliberated upon the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme and Operation Sadbhavna projects.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles conducted a community-centric medical camp at Tening village under the Tening sub-division in the Peren district on Monday under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.
The initiative aimed to bring essential healthcare services closer to the local community and promote awareness about preventive healthcare and healthy living.
The camp provided medical consultation, essential medicines, and basic healthcare assistance to 243 villagers, comprising 94 men, 98 women, and 51 children.
An Assam Rifles doctor and medical staff attended to the beneficiaries and sensitised them on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, sanitation, timely medical consultation, and healthy lifestyle practices.
In another event, the Assam Rifles celebrated the 53rd Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association Day at the Motivational Hall in the Kohima garrison on Monday.
The event saw the participation of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and their families from across Kohima to honour the service, dedication, and sacrifices of veterans who have contributed to the Assam Rifles and the nation.
The Assam Rifles provided essential aid to ex-servicemen and Veer Naris on the occasion. A medical camp was also organised, providing medical consultation and necessary healthcare assistance to the beneficiaries, along with the felicitation of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris in recognition of their service.
