Assam Rifles holds yoga session, donates blood, and supports NEET aspirants in Nagaland, boosting health and education initiatives.

DIMAPUR — In the run-up to the International Day of Yoga 2026, under the Government’s ‘Yoga 365’ initiative, Assam Rifles conducted a yoga session for students of Wangto Primary School at COB Chenloisho, Mon district, on May 2.
A total of 46 students participated in the session, which aimed at introducing yoga at an early age and educating young minds on its numerous physical and mental health benefits, a defence release stated.
The session included basic yoga postures and breathing exercises, fostering awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
“The initiative encouraged students to adopt yoga as a daily practice and reinforced the importance of discipline and well-being. It also strengthened the bond between the Armed Forces and the local community,” it stated.

In Kiphire, Assam Rifles upheld its humanitarian spirit by saving a life through a timely blood donation at District Hospital Kiphire on May 2. Acting on an urgent request received from the hospital regarding a critically ill patient in need of immediate blood transfusion, Assam Rifles troops responded without delay.
Demonstrating commitment and selflessness, four AR personnel volunteered and donated four units of blood, ensuring that the patient received timely medical care.
“Their prompt action played a crucial role in stabilising the patient’s condition and preventing further complications.
“Such acts of compassion and readiness highlight the dedication of Assam Rifles towards not only safeguarding the nation but also serving the local community in times of need,” the release stated.

Assam Rifles also facilitated and supported the participation of the 4th batch of NIEDO students from Capt. N Kenguruse, MVC Centre of Excellence & Wellness, Chiesewema Garrison, Kohima district, in the NEET examination conducted on May 3 at designated centres in Kohima.
A total of 30 students, comprising seven male and 23 female candidates, appeared for the examination at centres including Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), New Capital and Nagaland University, Meriema Campus.
“The participation reflects their dedication and focused preparation towards national-level competitive examinations.
“The NIEDO Centre continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating preparation for competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE by providing structured guidance, academic support and a conducive learning environment,” it stated.
“This initiative highlights sustained efforts towards academic excellence and capacity building among the youth. Assam Rifles remains committed to empowering young aspirants through such initiatives, enabling them to pursue higher goals and contribute meaningfully to society.”
