Assam Rifles conducts dental camp in Meluri, supplies water tanks in Kohima, and hosts student events in Tening.

DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles carried out multiple civic action initiatives across Meluri, Kohima, and Peren districts, encompassing healthcare, civic infrastructure support, and student engagement programmes.
Meluri: In the Meluri district, Assam Rifles conducted a dental camp at Akhen village as part of its ongoing healthcare outreach in remote areas. The camp was organised to provide accessible dental care and promote awareness regarding oral hygiene.
According to an update, a total of 50 villagers participated in the camp, comprising 10 children, 25 women, and 15 men. Participants underwent examination and screening by the medical team and received treatment and medicines based on findings.
Kohima: In Kohima district, the Kohima Garrison of Assam Rifles distributed four water storage tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 litres, to the Seruzou Welfare Society at Naga Hospital Colony under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme for the financial year 2026-27.
The initiative provided a cumulative storage capacity of 20,000 litres to address community water requirements. Stationery items were also distributed to local children to support their education.
Peren: In Peren district, Assam Rifles organised educational, motivational, cultural, and sports activities for school students across Tening village on Wednesday.
The events included painting and drawing competitions, volleyball and football matches, and other recreational sessions aimed at encouraging sports participation and teamwork.
Assam Rifles personnel also distributed sports equipment and prizes to participating schools and students.
