DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles conducted a series of community activities across multiple locations in Nagaland.
Tening: Under Operation Sadbhavna, Assam Rifles handed over three computer sets and three almirahs to the Tening Hereka Council in Peren district on Tuesday. The initiative aims to strengthen the council’s office infrastructure and improve administrative efficiency.
According to an update, the handover programme was attended by 150 students and 50 local representatives and residents of Tening.
Shamator: Assam Rifles is conducting an intensive pre-vocational training programme for local youth in Shamator with the aim of preparing candidates for recruitment into the armed forces, including Agniveer and CAPF.

The initiative focuses on providing structured preparation through regular physical training, academic guidance, and selection-orientated practice to improve the candidates’ physical fitness, endurance, discipline, and confidence.
Meluri: Assam Rifles organised an outreach programme, ‘A Day with Company Commander’, at Kanjang Government School in Meluri district on Tuesday. The initiative aimed at encouraging young students, creating awareness about career opportunities in the armed forces, and strengthening the bond between Assam Rifles and the local community.
As part of the programme, stationery items were distributed to students to support their early education. A motivational lecture on career opportunities, eligibility criteria, and various avenues to join the armed forces was also conducted for students of classes 9 and 10.
The headmaster of Kanjang Government School, who retired on the occasion, was felicitated by Assam Rifles in recognition of his dedicated service.
