Assam Rifles conducts cleanliness drives, plantation activities, and community welfare events across Nagaland.

DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles conducted multiple civic action programmes, including mass cleanliness campaigns, plantation drives, and educational and welfare initiatives across various locations in Nagaland on October 2.
In Kohima, Assam Rifles organised a mass cleanliness drive to mark Gandhi Jayanti on the theme “Swachhata Hi Seva – Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”.
The campaign witnessed participation from various sections of society, including representatives from D Block Youth Organisation, Zub Zub NGO, Kohima Municipal Council, Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association Kohima, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mount Olive College, Chandmari Higher Secondary School, Little Flower Higher Secondary School, National Cadet Corps cadets, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, and Assam Rifles personnel.
The programme commenced with a ceremony at Children's Park, Kohima Garrison, where Thenusou Sekhose, Deputy Chairperson of Kohima Municipal Council, along with officials of Assam Rifles, paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. The cleanliness drive proceeded from Children's Park through Phulbari Chowk to Razhu Point before returning to the starting point.

Inter-school math quiz for private schools held in Dimapur
In Kohima, Assam Rifles also visited Bright Morning Star Children Home, where personnel distributed gifts and essential commodities to the children and staff.
In Tuensang, Assam Rifles conducted a tree plantation. At Kisetong village in Kiphire district, the COB Phelungre under Kiphire Battalion organised a plantation drive as part of the Swachh Bharat Campaign. Students and teachers of Government Middle School, Kisetong, took part in the drive alongside villagers and village authorities. As part of the initiative, Assam Rifles presented sports equipment to the school to promote physical activity among the youth.
In Meluri, Assam Rifles organised a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme at St. Xavier Higher Secondary School. The event featured an awareness session on cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and personal hygiene, followed by a drawing competition and leaflet distribution for 50 participating students of the junior wing.
At Ghaspani, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), along with the President of Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association, IGAR (N), visited Subedar P B Chhetri, Kirti Chakra, Centre of Excellence (NIEDO). During the visit, the Inspector General interacted with JEE and NEET aspirants undergoing intensive academic coaching at the centre.
