Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): The Assam Rifles battalion posted at Wokha district aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a lecture and awareness programme at Wokha on July 3.
A press release received here on Tuesday, while informing about the awareness programme, stated that the basic objective of the event was to provide the audience, a general awareness about the ill effects of HIV/AIDS and educating them on various methods for preventing the spread of the disease.
“Regular awareness campaign is the most effective way to educate the general masses on the menace and consequences of HIV/AIDS especially amongst the adolescents,” stated the release while adding that the programme was carried out with a motive to reach out to every person in the community. A total of 25 local civilians of Wokha region and 80 Assam Rifles personnel participated in the awareness programme, the release further added.
