Assam Rifles conduct ‘mega ex-servicemen’ rally

Dimapur, April 28 (EMN): The 9 Sector Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of IG AR (South) has conducted a ‘mega ex-servicemen’ rally for ex-servicemen of Manipur at Khuman Lampak Stadium in Manipur on April 28. A press release from the AR informed about the event on Saturday. According to the press release, more than 800 ex-servicemen from all the districts of the state, including World War II veterans, widows, and their dependants participated during the event. The aim of the rally was to strengthen bonds with the veterans and to acknowledge their contribution made for the country during the prime of their lives. A number of stalls were setup to address grievances and provide facilities including CSD, medical assistance, banking, Aadhaar, PAN Card Registration and such. Various medical aids like wheel chairs, spectacles, walking sticks, and hearing aids were distributed to the needy veterans, the press release stated.
