Assam Rifles conduct free medical camp

Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): The areas of Thoubal, Sangaiyumpham, Khangabok and adjoining areas had witnessed incessant rains and water logging in a number of places in recent past. Taking note of this growing concerns of locals for water borne diseases and the need to provide medical assistance to affected locals, 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a free medical camp at Thoubal Ground, Thoubal District with the active cooperation and assistance of Friends Club, Thoubal on July 30. A medical team comprising of seven doctors and 13 medical staff provided medical aid to 450 people including men, women, children and elderly. Medical facilities provided at the camp included surgical, ENT, eye specialist as well as a gynaecologist to address the medical needs of women folk. To assist the locals, the battalion also provided them with the transport facility for their convenience and distributed free medicines to the locals.
