Assam Rifles commemorates National Unity Day

Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): Assam Rifles commemorated 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Saturday by organising series of events.

On the occasion, all ranks of Assam Rifles took pledge to preserve unity, integrity and security of the nation.

The programme was followed by tree plantation and drawing and painting event for children.

In a separate event, the Jalukie battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised Fit India Movement programme to encourage the people of all age groups to stay healthy and agile by taking part in activities and sports in daily lives.

Villagers were briefed about the importance of fitness practice.
