Dimapur, April 21 (EMN): Basing on information about presence of two ‘OGW’ of NSCN (K), 40 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (North) launched an operation in Tuensang on April 16.
During the operation, security forces apprehended two ‘Over Ground Workers’ of NSCN (K) namely Toshi Kamzuk, son of Amang Chang, resident of Litem, Tuensang and Samaho Sumi, son of Saila, resident of Kietha, Zunheboto along with two point 22 mm pistol with magazine and Rs 30,320/- cash. The apprehended cadres along with recovered items were handed over to Tuensang Police station.
In a separate incident, troops of 41 Assam Rifles alongwith police representative established Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) at Patkai Bridge, Dimapur.
According to PRO, during the search, the troops intercepted a Bolero vehicle regn No NL-07-0988 coming from Kohima to Dimapur. On search of the vehicle, one Pt 32 mm Pistol with magazine was recovered and individual was apprehended.
Another vehicle, Maruti 800 regn No NL-05-2903, following the Bolero was also intercepted and on search, one AK-56 Rifle, one 9 mm Pistol, one Pt 32 mm Pistol and eight live rounds of assorted ammunition were recovered from the three occupants who were also apprehended.
The apprehended accuseds were identified as cadres of NSCN (R) namely SS Lt Col Kuhoto V Anche (Dimapur Town cadre), SS Lt Atoka Awomi, SS Maj Ato Yeputho and SS Major Samuel. The apprehendees alongwith the recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
