Assam Rifles apprehend NDFB(S) cadres

Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): The Assam Rifles of Kohima battalion on Oct. 24, during an operation at BOC in Kohima, apprehended two National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) (S) cadres. A statement from the troops authority said that the operation was launched based on specific information. The two arrested cadres were identified as “Self Styled Lance Corporal” Biki Basumatary of NDFB (S), son of Gurucharn Basumatary and a resident of Gohpur village, Assam and Nerswn Narzary, son of Frota Narzary, a resident of Dungang Fakriguri village, Kokrajhar in Assam. A Nokia mobile phone and cash of INR 1,000 in Korean currency were recovered from their possession. According to the statement, during interrogation, Biki Basumatary revealed that ‘he had infiltrated to Myanmar in 2014 and underwent three years of training in Thulu Camp of NDFB (S). He had come to Kohima with specific direction from his hierarchy for recruitment of new cadres and also to act as a link-up man between NSCN (K) and NDFB (S) and recently move to D’ Block colony in Kohima. He was further instructed to facilitate movement of cadres from Assam to Myanmar through Kohima, it stated. Both the arrested cadres were handed over to south Police Station in Kohima.
