Diphu, June 2 (EMN): Minister government of Assam, Hills Area Development (HAD), Mines and Mineral, Sum Ronghang visited Diphu district headquarter on June 2 Saturday.
During his visit a review meeting with officials of non entrusted subjects (State subjects) in Karbi Anglong was held at Circuit House, to gather information about the activities of the non entrusted subjects in the district.
Sum Ronghang said that he has asked heads of all state subject departments to sit with him for a review meeting to know about the activities in the district. With inherent and entrusted subjects there are 30 departments in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), but there are also other non entrusted subjects having their office in the district.
Since Karbi Anglong is governed under 6th Schedule provision and the non entrusted subjects does not cover under KAAC and it is the responsibility of the state government to look over the activities of the non entrusted subject departments, the minister said. He said a total of 78 departments are existent in the district including both entrusted and non entrusted subjects.
Ronghang during the review meeting directed the National Highways authorities on the deplorable road conditions of NH-36 and 39 and asked for immediate repair to be taken up. The minister informed that two new Border Outpost (BOP) would be set-up in inter-state boundaries with Nagaland and Meghalaya. With two new BOPs the total BOPs in Karbi Anglong will be 7.
