Staff Reporter DIMAPUR, MARCH 16 BORDER authorities of Assam have began the process of writing to SP Dimapur and Military Engineering Service, Rangapahar detailing the alleged involvement of Sunil Dutta and Bindu Debnath – both residents of Dimapur – in the March 15 incident at Khukuribasti in which nine houses were torched by “attackers” from Nagaland. The Military Engineering Service, Rangapahar has been dragged into the equation following confirmation from the Assam police that one of the prime suspects, Bindu Debnath, was an employee of the MES. Additional SP (Border) Karbi Anglong, S Ali Ahmed told Eastern Mirror on Sunday evening that he will be notifying SP Dimapur as well as MES, Rangpahar authorities, in letter, of the involvement of Sunil Dutta and Bindu Debnath in the March 15 arson at Khukuribasti. The ASP (Border) also informed that the indefinite Karbi Anglong bandh called by the Karbi Anglong Kave Arat from 5 am of March 16 was, in effect, not successful. “There were no disruptions or restrictions to movement of vehicles. “Yes, there was a call for bandh (by the Karbi Anglong Kave Arat). But movement of vehicles was free and nothing happened,” he informed.
