Kohima, July 20 (EMN): With a vision to nurture and cater to the need of an ambient study environment suited for a NPSC, UPSC or other competitive examination aspirants, Aspirers Study Centre was inaugurated at Pioneer Institute at Pusa Complex in BOC area of Kohima on Wednesday.
Formally inaugurating the study centre, UPSC 2021 AIR-567 Viku L Achumi narrated on how students from Northeastern states including Nagaland had to go to Delhi for coaching due to the lack of facilities at home states. He also shared about many talented students who could not clear UPSC or other competitive examinations owing to financial problems.
However, with the opportunity being made available now in the state, he stated that aspiring students could make use of the facilities at the coaching institute and crack exams. With the availability of a suitable library along with internet facility besides other necessities at Pioneer Institute, he opined that one need not necessarily go to Delhi to undergo coaching.
He has emphasised on the need to encourage one another to be determined in order to achieve their aim in life. He also advised the students to create peer groups to make study more interesting while attending coaching.
Stating that aspirants would have the advantages to be mentored, guided and motivated by people who cracked different competitive exams at the institute, he expressed hope that more Nagas would clear many NPSC, UPSC and other exams.
During a testimonial oration and interactive session later held at Sümi Aphuyemi Baptist Church at Sepfuzou, Achumi stated that parents should support not only through monetary but in every aspect if they want their children to achieve success.
He also gave some insight for approaching interviews with his 3Cs strategy namely Calmness, Confidence and Conviction.
A Pitoho Chophy, principal accountant general, stated that the facilities provided at the Aspirers Study Centre are better than the ones available in Delhi. He stated that the study centre would be a haven for the aspirants of same mindset, where they could come and prepare, share, learn and crack the exam together. He also encouraged the aspirants to “take their time, be prepared for failure, be prepared for correcting mistakes and be focused.”
Kiviboto Sheqi, managing director of Pioneer Institute, informed about how Pitoho Chophy founded the study centre with fervent desire for Nagas to crack such exams. He shared how they have decided to come up with a facility to counsel and mentor candidates for competitive exam through campus programmes, lectures, intensive mock tests and interviews.
