Dimapur police on Tuesday night took into custody an activist of a Naga underground outfit, in connection with the cold-blooded murder of a garment trader, 50-year-old Ashish Saha, on August 2 last inside the market complex of Shaam bazaar at Signal Basti in Dimapur.
Highly reliable sources said that the underground activist is a ‘tatar’ in the organization. According to information, which could not be confirmed from the district police, received here today, the victim was asked to pay Rs 3 lakhs by the underground activist in question.
He was directed to deliver the money at Sham bazaar.
Reportedly, the victim could pay ‘only’ Rs 1 lakh which resulted in his unfortunate death. Police officials from sub-urban station in Dimapur however refused to confirm/deny the report.
