Kohima, March 1: As part of the Angami Sports Association golden jubilee meet, the indoor games began at the Indoor Stadium, Kohima on Wednesday evening with Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary Secretary for MTF & State Loteries as the special guest. The indoor games were reported to be initiated this year in the history of the ASA meet.
In his brief address, Khriehu highlighted that forgiveness is the essence of jubilee and he asked all to forgive one another for any misgivings so as to let peace prevail among the association.

He also urged the players to take keen interest in sports but he maintained that if any sportsperson wants to take sports as a profession, they need to be careful to choose what would be good and what would suit them.
The politician also bemoaned the lack of sports infrastructure and facilities in Nagaland. Pointing out that the famous badminton and table tennis players are from Asia, he underscored that Naga players have to work harder to become like them.
He pleaded the players not to limit themselves in this jubilee meet alone but work harder to play in the national and international arenas as well.
He further lauded the state players who had bought fame to Nagaland and urged upon all the sportspersons to build relations and reminded them that sports is not just about winning medals but also of building relationships. He stressed on the need for sportspersons to respect one another. He later declared the indoor games open.
The categories that are being played in the indoor events include Table Tennis, Badminton for both men and women. The final matches will be played on Friday at 3pm.
