Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): As part of the ongoing cultural integration and peace initiative by Yuva Kala Sadhana Sivir (YKSS), various art forms such as theatre, painting with water colours, classical Indian music, Naga folk dances and music etc., were the main features of the event at the NEZCC’s stone garden, in Dimapur.
A local rock band from Nagaland, Abiogenesis, was also a resource for the topic of Naga folk music. This included teaching a bamboo musical instrument invented by one of the band’s leaders Moa Subong. The instrument is called the Bamhum.
Another resource person Sanjeev Sharma, a painter from Jaipur and also a member of the renowned Lalit Kala Academi is in the state. He is to teach on the use and knowledge of water colours in still life, especially nature study.
A total of 16 resource persons are in Dimapur for the event. 10 are from outside Nagaland.
It was informed that 76 participants from across the Northeast have signed up for the initiative. Food and lodging have been provided for the next five days.
