Artang crowned Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament champion 2021

Mokokchung, March 20 (EMN): Artang ward lifted the second Mokokchung inter-ward football tournament 2021 by overcoming Penli's bold challenge 3-1 in a thrilling final at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung on Saturday.

Goals from Temshi Imchen and Ampangchuba followed by brilliant assists from Moa Imchen midfield gave Artang a thumping victory.

Penli had a good start but Artang took the lead after 24 minutes when Moa Imchen delivered a brilliant assist from the centre and Temshi Imchen converted the pass after beating the defender.

Artang were on the top of their game and wrapped up the first half with two strikes from Ampangchuba in the 27th and 29th minutes before the second half 3-0.

In a compelling second half, Penli showed unbreakable spirit and even threatened a comeback after converting a penalty in the 78th minute by Imlitangit.

Penli’s side tried to pin their opponents with a high pressing game but Artang did not make forced errors ensuring the coveted cup after the final whistle.
