Nagaland’s Art and Culture Department readies for Hornbill Festival 2025 with cultural performances, art fairs, and archival exhibitions.

DIMAPUR — The Department of Art and Culture is all set for the Hornbill Festival 2025 on the theme "Cultural connect", with activities scheduled to be taken up by the department from December 1 to 10.


According to an update, daily cultural performances (A Cultural Extravaganza) will be held at the main arena. Eighteen cultural troupes from within the state will be arriving soon to showcase folk dances and songs, indigenous games, demonstrations of rituals and folk dramas, etc., in their colourful traditional attires.


The Artists' Corner/Art Fair will be held at the World War II Museum premises, Kisama. Activities include an art show, transaction of art, artist talk/presentation, art pavilion exhibition, art market and artisan booths, art demonstrations, interactive workshops, art installations, art battles and a cultural art show.

The Archives Branch will organise an archival exhibition titled "First 50 years of British administration in Naga Hills". Departmental publications based on research documentation, monographs of historians, dictionaries of some local communities, Naga customary practices and usages, archaeological publications, etc., will be available for book lovers in the Exhibition Hall at the World War II Complex.


The World War II museum will be open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm. Meanwhile, the State Museum, Kohima, will be open to all the public on all working days from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
