Dimapur, Jan. 7 (EMN): Atoizu Range Students’ Union (ARSU) held its 42nd conference on January 5 in Akuhaito town with the MLA of 32-Atoizu assembly constituency, Picto Shohe, as the special guest on the theme “Dream, Dare and Deliver.”
Speaking on the occasion, Picto stated that with the coming of Christianity among the Sümis at Aizuto Mission Center, the educational system was influenced and led to the establishment of educational institutions. Aizuto being under Atoizu constituency, he stated that the people of Atoizu were blessed to race among others in quest for educational thoughts and feelings, stated an update issued by Inoto Z Chophy, PRO of NDPP 32 Atoizu AC.
He narrated that the leaders were sensitive towards education and became patrons and pioneers to establish schools. Stating that many politicians, scholars, bureaucrats etc., were the products of those institutions, he informed that the ongoing conference was also one of the results of the past sacrifices by the elders.
He was impressed with all the speakers, who have successfully qualified the competitive exams. He expressed hope that they would be inspiration to all the students and encouraged the students to pay attention to their speeches and follow their footsteps.
Picto also highlighted some developmental works carried out during his tenure.
The programme began with hoisting of the union flag by the special guest, while an invocation prayer was offered by Rev. Mulaho Assumi, pastor of Yeshuluto Baptist Church, welcome song was presented by Sümi Totimi Loka of Akuhaito town and welcome address was delivered by Iketo H Zhimo, ARSU president.
The games and sports meet was declared opened by the special guest.
