
Dimapur, April 7 (EMN): The army recruitment rally held exclusively for youth of Nagaland, which began on April 3 at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur, concluded on April 6.
A defence release stated that an overwhelming response from the youth who have registered from all districts surpassed all previous records by about 25 percent.
The rally was flagged off by Brigadier VM Sharma, Deputy Director General, North East States, on April 3 at Bhagat Stadium, Dimapur. It stated that presently medical tests of selected candidates are in progress.
Director recruiting and in-charge of recruitment in Nagaland, Col. Sanjeev Malik, has thanked the state chief secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, and the entire local administrative staff, Commissioner of Police, District Education Office, and Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, for the successful conduct of the army recruitment rally which culminated on April 6.
It expressed optimism that the wave of surge in candidates to join the elite profession of valour and pride from the eastern-most state of the country would go a long way in bringing about rapid socio-economic development of Naga hill tribes.
It further informed that the written common entrance examination for the selected candidates would be conducted on April 28 at Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur.
