Dimapur, April 25 (EMN): Spear Corps, Rangapahar, has developed the playground at St. Xavier College, Jalukie, into a full-fledged track and field ground.
“This is a rare privilege for the students and the region to have this facility,” exclaimed the college’s principal. He added that it has been a long felt need of the college.
He thanked the army for completing the work within four months with earth movers. He added that the playground is now a full-fledged space for all track and field events.
The work was initiated by the former GOC Lt General Gopal and was completed by the present GOC Lt. General Rajeev Sirohi.
A press release issued by the staff secretary, Flora, looked forward to host two major events in near future depending on the completion of the other requirements. It added that the new facility is a boost for the youngsters of the region gifted with sportive skills and be a positive addition in developing the innate talents.
“There is space for the talent to grow and we are happy that Army has taken so much effort in addressing the need of the people and proving themselves really at the service of the nation with focus on building citizens with quality,” said the principal in his thanking note.
