Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command, Lieutenant General MM Naravane visited HQ IG Assam Rifles (North) and border locations of Eastern Nagaland on Feb. 3 and 4
th to review the security situation in the area and interacted with troops.
The Army Commander called on Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday and discussed the security situation in the state during his visit.
Naravane was on Monday briefed about the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness in the state at HQ IG Assam Rifles (North). He expressed satisfaction on the security measures and operational preparedness of the security forces and complimented the Assam Rifles for its commendable job with regards to managing the security situation.
Later on Feb. 4, the Eastern Army Commander along with Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps and Major General PC Nair, IG Assam Rifles (North) interacted with the leaders of civil society organisations, students, civil administration officials, gaon surahs and ex-servicemen of the State and “assured them of all possible assistance to people of Nagaland in their endeavours for peace and development.”
