Imphal, Aug. 31 (EMN): A combined team of Thoubal district police commandos and 6 Assam Rifles, arrested an illegal arms dealer while conducting frisking and checking operations at Lilong Bazaar near the bridge on Wednesday around 6.30 pm, according to a press release.
“During the frisking and checking, an illegal arms dealer Md Amzad Khan alias Abdul Noo (26) son of Md Abdul Samad of Lilong Dam Makha, Athoukang was arrested along with a recovery of a 9 mm pistol made in Italy with one magazine and a maruti swift (MN02B/9821) silky silver colour were seized from his possession,” says PRO of Manipur Police department in a release on Thursday.
“A case has been registered at Lilong Police Station and investigation is going on,” it said.
Meanwhile a combined team of Imphal East district police commandos and 6 Assam Rifles arrested a member of the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup during a cordon and search risking and operation at Bashikhong Bazaar near market, the release added.
The arrested individual was one Pebam Robin Singh alias Meiraba(35) son of Naba Singh of Napet Palli Maning Leikai, it said. A case has been registered at Irilbung police station and investigation is going.
