Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): The administrative establishment of Mon and Wokha districts are preparing for the Lok Sabha elections. The district election officer of Mon, Thavaseelan, has issued a notice informing all the arms license holders in the district to deposit the arms along with the arms license at their nearest police station, latest by March 30.
Failing to do as ordered will invite necessary action against the offender in accordance with provisions of the law.
‘Issue of arms license and renewal will be banned/suspended till the completion of the election process. Further, under Section 144 of CRPC 1973, carrying of licensed arms is banned till the completion of election process except by those persons who are entitled,’ the IPR stated referring to the establishment’s order.
Likewise, the district election officer of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, has issued notifications directing arms license holders in the district to deposit their Arms/weapons at the nearest police station and with immediate effect.
All administrative officers have been directed to oversee that arms license holders of every type of weapons are deposited in the police station, updates stated.
Recruitment postponed
The Mon district administration has issued a notification issued on March 12 informing that the district level recruitment board (DLRB) for computer practical tests and interview for LDA- computer assistant posts, and interview for Dobashi at the establishment of the deputy commissioner of Mon has been postponed till the completion of the Election process.
