Dimapur, Feb. 6: The Ao Senden has condemned what it stated was an “irresponsible statement” given to the local press by 22 Arkakong NPF assembly constituency.
The NPF workers from said constituency in Mokokchung district had on Sunday expressed support to its elected representative, Nuklutoshi Longkumer, stating that there was no reason for him to resign.
However, in a press release issued on Monday the Ao Senden stated: “The Ao Senden in the midst of undertaking numerous steps to protect the rights of the Nagas and to safeguard its people, is shocked to see the press release issued in local dailies by 22 Arkakong NPF A/C on 6th Feb. 2017 in support of their leader which goes against the wishes/rights of the Nagas. The Ao Senden condemns and regrets such irresponsible statement.”
It has reminded again that anyone could “come and clarify” on the decision of the Ao Senden in connection with the issue from the office of the Ao Senden anytime.
“Henceforth, it is hereby declared that the Ao Senden will not be held responsible if any untoward incident happens to any one relating to this issue. The Ao Senden stands firm to continue with the agitation in the same manner until a solution is arrived at.”
