The amount of fake propaganda and internal squabbling that is making the upcoming election violent. We don’t even know our stance. Maybe people have figured us out long back. We are in the process of destroying ourselves. After the Election, the winning party will take vindictive measures against its opponents. Give it another 5 years, we will systematically disintegrate. Today intending candidates are not compelled to talk about agenda because Money is the only agenda in the mind of the voters.
The Church also knows very well that clean election is a moral issue and they cannot preach austerity and host lavish Jubilees and church programmes which are almost entirely funded from the state coffer directly or indirectly.
We talk about Clean Candidate but who are we to pass that judgement? Isn’t the whole ecosystem which envelop us responsible for creating the much-hated-by-some/much-loved-by-some politician today. Do you think we would elect anyone based on Agendas or Vision. We have become blurred in our perspective.
Today Students are only fighting for Scholarship rather than career, imagine the number of school and college dropouts, Do we have a rehab programme in place?. Do we have a realistic road map for the younger generation?Teachers fighting for salary and we talk about upgrading Education system. Govt. Officials posted in District HQs don’t have basic amenities and we keep upgrading different EACs ADCs offices just to list as milestones and achievements. The list will go on and on. We know very clearly what our priorities are and we should focus on what is important.
With so many educated people online and offline, why don’t we list out 5 top requirements for each village/town in the constituency and get a clear commitment from the intending candidates as to what they can deliver, what they cannot. I am sure with the cash crunch, some constituency will get the blessed chance of discussing issues with the candidates.
And please think again, Is our Society imploding? Are we being systematically manipulated to destroy one another by throwing money in front of us? Elders and Leaders, Take responsibility to protect the sensitive fabric of your villages. Pledge to rein in party workers and refrain from divisive politics.
This Election is only a foreign process thrust upon us and we should not let it destroy us for the sake of the younger generation.
