IMPHAL, Dec. 18: The Assam Regimental Centre (ARC) Shillong stormed into the semifinals of the ongoing 60th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE, Memorial Football Tournament, 2016, popularly known as CC Meet.
In the last quarter final match of the tournament played here, ARC Shillong beat North Imphal Sporting Association 5-4 in a tie-break after both teams failed to score any goal in the scheduled time. ARC Shillong will now face dark horse of the championship Singjamei Sporting Union Singjamei in their semi final match on Tuesday afternoon. Newly created Kangpokpi district giant FC Zalen will take on NEROCA FC Sangakpham tomorrow afternoon (1.30pm). The state’s biggest soccer tournament which was presently organised by All Manipur Football Association began on December 4 with 22 teams participating in it.
