Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): Ahthibung Region Club (ARC) in collaboration with PHC, Ahthibung and National Vector Borne Diseases Programme (NVBDCP), Peren conducted a medical camp at New Besuimpuie village, Peren on June 16.
The medical camp was taken up in view of monsoon expected to trouble the villagers in remote areas with bad road restricting vehicular movement, and people especially children and the elderly getting flu and other monsoon-related diseases, stated Vice chairman of Ahthibung Region Club in a press release. It added that lack of proper medical infrastructure make situations worse in rural areas.
Dr Vezokholu Khamo, PHC, Athibung and her team treated about 157 villagers, including new born and old persons during the medical camp, informed the update. On the spot malaria tests were also conducted by district malaria prevention team.
Hoijituing (SW) and Mangtinsu singson (MTS) conducted lecture on vector borne disease for the villagers.
