Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Kargil War, the Ahthibung Regional Club (ARC) organised on July 27 a drawing competition for students in the premises of Samziuram church.
The event was organised in collaboration with Samzuiram Youth Union, Child Helpline of Peren, and the Jalukie battalion of the Assam Rifles, updates stated.
A total of 70 students of the age group 9-10 years actively participated in the drawing competition. The drawing competition was organised with the objective to encourage self confidence among the children as well as to instil the values of sacrifices made by soldiers during the Kargil war, it was informed.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Pinky, who also briefly spoke on the importance of Vijay Diwas. Representatives from the Jalukie battalion also cleared queries of the children about the Kargil War, it was informed.
A team from Child Helpline of Peren also conducted a seminar on subjects of ‘bad touch,’ and do's and don'ts during the programme, updates stated.
