Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): The Zunheboto battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a seminar based on the topic of employment opportunities in the armed forces, at Akuluto in Zunheboto district on March 11.
The aim of the lecture was to enlighten students about careers in the armed forces. Students were also briefed about a forthcoming recruitment to the army and the central armed police forces.
The Assam Rifles has assured the youth all possible help in training and registration through the recruitment cell of the security force.
In another programme, the Chieswema battalion of the Assam Rifles interacted with village functionaries of areas namely Chizami, Thetsumi, Enhulumi, Gwazutomi in Chizami of Phek district on March 12.
During the meeting, the members discussed issues pertaining to the local people and region, it was informed. They were also briefed about a recruitment rally to the security organisation. They were exhorted to motivate the youth to join the armed forces. Issues about infrastructure development, health and education were also discussed during the event. The Assam Rifles have assured the villagers all possible help in their future endeavours.
Elsewhere in Tuensang, Shamatore battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Dan village on March 12.
The aim of the medical camp was to reach out to the locals of villages in far-flung areas along the borders and provide them with basic medical attention. 124 villagers attended the camp.
In a related programme, the Tuensang battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp in Ukha village in Mon district on March 11.
A medical team comprising the medical officer and nursing staff treated about 442 patients and gave medicines for free. In addition, 85 children were administered with polio vaccine drops in Tuensang and Ukha village.
