Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): Phek battalion of the Assam Rifles carried out a ‘Clean and Green’ drive on November 9 where a total of 800 saplings were planted along Jessami market road.
A defence release stated that signboards were also displayed to spread awareness about the importance of preserving flora. It added that 25 students from JNV Jessami also participated in the event.
In yet another event, the battalion conducted a lecture on healthy lifestyle and the need for upholding healthy habits for all round development of body and mind. Following the lecture, interaction on hygiene and sanitation, physical exercise and balanced diet was conducted.
Altogether, 37 residents attended the lecture.
