The amenities included classroom desk-cum-bench and water storage tank of 1000 litres capacity and various sports items including volleyballs, badminton rackets, basketballs and footballs. Aleno, chairperson of Bright Morning Star Orphanage, Kohima, and staff received the amenities on behalf of the Home. In a similar programme, Dimapur battalion of the Assam Rifles presented sports items to the Head GB and Chairman of Indisen village, Dimapur, on June 18. The items were donated to encourage youth of the area to foster a sports-friendly culture in Nagaland. The youth were also briefed about the benefits of engaging in physical activities as part of their daily routine for achieving all round development. In yet another programme, Kohima battalion of the Assam Rifles has constructed and donated a three-toilet block to Pfuchama village in Kohima district on June 22. The facility was installed with an aim to facilitate good hygiene and sanitation practices as part of ‘Swachh Bharat’ initiative and also to check avoidable ailments that could result out of open defecation. The facility was handed over to Chatuo, Head GB of Pfuchama village, in the presence of other residents.
