Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): Dimapur battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp in Ghokuto village. The camp was conducted by the medical team from the Assam Rifles wherein free medical check-up and treatment were provided to the residents of Ghokuto and Viheto villages.
Altogether, 135 patients were examined and given medicines free of cost.
In a related programme, Mokokchung battalion of the Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp in Kobulong village on December 11.
A specially constituted team under Assam Rifles medical officer had examined 126 patients of varying age groups. Medicines were provided for free as per diagnosed ailment and on need basis. In another event a friendly volleyball match was played between local youth of Chungliyimsen village and troops of COB Changki on
December 12. The match was organised to encourage the youth of the region to utilise the medium of sports and games for recreation, social interaction and overall growth of health and mind.
In a separate programme, Wokha battalion of Assam Rifles has conducted an interactive session with the village GBs and chairmen of Wokha district on the theme ‘Education for progression’ in Wokha town on December 12.
The meeting was aimed at enhancing trust and cooperation between security forces and village traditional bodies. Important issues pertaining to development, health, education, women empowerment and opportunities available for the youth in security forces were also discussed.
Altogether 38 GBs/ chairmen had participated in the interaction.
